When should an injury go to urgent care instead of the ER?

Urgent care is appropriate for injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening, such as minor fractures, sprains, cuts, or burns. Injuries involving heavy bleeding, severe trauma, head injuries with loss of consciousness, or suspected spinal injuries should be treated at an emergency room.
